Shaykh Ghufran Ahmed

Shaykh Ghufran Ahmed is an instructor at Hamd Institute, where he teaches Arabic grammar, rhetoric, Hadith sciences, and Islamic commercial law. He is also a PhD candidate in Islamic Banking and Finance at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Born and raised in Houston, Texas, he began his Islamic studies at Michigan Islamic Institute and completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Arabic and Shariah sciences from the International University Binoria in Karachi, followed by an M.Phil in Hadith.

He holds ijazāt in the six canonical Hadith books, Qur’an, and over 50 other classical texts. He has taught at Binoria and served as an Imam and khatib at its central mosque. His interest in Islamic finance led him to pursue certifications in Islamic fintech, waqf, microfinance, and Shariah auditing, as well as an internship at Meezan Bank. He also offers Islamic financial consultations on zakat, contracts, and halal investing.
